A tropical Depression churning in the eastern Gulf has strengthened to now become Tropical Storm Bertha.
The National Hurricane Center reports the wind speeds of Bertha have increased to at least 40-miles-per-hour.
"Some additional strengthening is possible during the next day or so," the NHC noted.
Bertha, the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, could bring heavy rain, strong wind gusts and storm surge along the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to as far west as the Middle Texas Coast.
