Restaurants Closing That We Will Miss

What is it about restaurants? Have you noticed how many restaurants have closed in recent years?

The restaurant business is cleaerly one of the toughest businesses there is. Restaurants that don’t make it are not around for long.

But the COVID pandemic was what realty hit restaurants hard, very hard. After all it’s already hard to make enough money to run a restaurant…but when the shutdown orders during the pandemic began, so did the wave of closings of restaurants happen.

But the trend hasn’t disappeared.

Since the end of the pandemic, restaurants in San Diego like Perry’s Café in Old Town and El Cajon shut their doors. So did some Red Lobster and Red Robin restaurants.

Most recently, a popular Denny’s in Pt. Loma suddenly closed and most notable of all, on June 30th, one of the oldest and hugely popular restaurants will be putting up the “we’re closed” sign in their windows.

The super famous Hob Knob Hill restaurant in Bankers Hill at 1st and Juniper Street recently announced it is closing its doors for good after 82 long years.

It will be a bit of history in San Diego that will never be forgotten.
