You won't hear anything about it from the mainstream media, but Republican U.S. Rep. Chip Roy has introduced new legislation that would make President Trump's border policies permanent.
"Stop the abuse of parole, stop the abuse of asylum, stop catch and release, in other words don't let Biden and Mayorkas do that again. So that is what I did" Roy said.
It's officially called the 'Permanent Trump Secure Border Act'.
"We fix a lot of stuff in this bill, we fix the loopholes" Roy told KTRH, "No more Jocelyn Nungaray's getting murdered. Without permanent reform, this is just a band-aid on a gunshot would."
The big question now is, and can the Republican led congress get it done, while they still have the majority?
"Look, if you want to fund ICE and Border Patrol, that's great. But I don't want to be removing people who are just going to come back in three or four years" noted Roy, "Let's codify what Trump is doing now with a secure border, so that a future Democrat can't mess it up."
He hopes they can get it passed before the midterms, and he also called out the GOP Senate to approve the SAVE America Act before November, as well.
