A new survey by J.G. Wentworth reveals that 39.9% of singles have gone on a date just for a free meal. Other findings:
- 27.5% of singles haven't done it but would consider it
- 32.6% of singles have never even considered the idea
- The average amount spent on a first date is $93
- Singles expect their dating partner to spend an average of $92 on a first date
- 13.4% of singles would definitely go on a date that would cost $100 or more
- 85% of people have turned down a second date due to financial incompatibility with their partner.
- top three first date activities … getting a drink at a bar (37.5%), enjoying a board game night (35.5%) and taking a walk in the park (8.2%).
