This day celebrates the first definition of a “cocktail,” which appeared in print for the first time May 13th, 1806. What is a ‘cocktail?” As Harry Croswell, editor at “The Balance and Columbian Repository” saw it – a cocktail as “a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters.”
A cocktail, is used to refer to a drink that contains two or more ingredients with at least one of in the ingredients alcohol. But now, the word ‘cocktail’ has now become embedded in our drinking vocabulary as the drinks are widely accessible with their ingredients easy to adapt to suit every taste.
These cocktails are from a speakeasy down in San Diego called "The Mothership"
Who serves the best cocktails in the Temecula Valley? I think that's a quest some of us should endeavor to find out!
