The Omaha Fire Department says a fire late Tuesday morning in South Omaha was accidental in nature: Improperly discarded smoking materials.
One person was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation, and nine people were displaced in the duplex fire that was near 19th Street and Missouri Avenue.
The initial call into Douglas County 911 Communications reported a person may be trapped.
Firefighters found no people inside, and the person reported trapped was found at another location.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
