Happy 71st birthday to Peter Frampton!
He called in today to chat about his new album "Frampton Forgets The Words" that comes out tomorrow. It's an instrumental album he did with his band, and features covers of some of their favorite songs.
Frampton told me he probably would not have made this album had it not been for him getting diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), which is an inflammatory and degenerative muscle disease that causes painless weakening of muscle
After they got done touring with the Steve Miller Band in October of 2018, he told the band he needed to start recording as much as possible because he wasn't sure how long it would be before the IBM started effect his playing.
We also chatted about getting vaccinated for COVID-19, the legendary 1954 Les Paul "Phenix" guitar that he used on the album, and his memoir "Do You Feel Like I Do?"
He also mentioned that he has one more album to finish....his next solo album, and he is looking forward to getting back to work on that when he can get the team back together again.
You can check out the full interview below or on the iHeartRadio app. I also included the music video he put together for the cover of the George Harrison classic "Isn't It A Pity" and the "Track by Track" look at David Bowie's "Loving The Alien" which is also on the new record.
