BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio)— Dig out that thinking cap because Find Nobody’s Treasure is back with a new puzzle adventure all weekend long.

Find Nobody’s Treasure is a Massachusetts-based real life treasure hunt game. The team hides a cash prize reward somewhere in New England for players to find using puzzles and riddles to decipher the location.

Mike Coughlin is one of the three game makers behind the operation and told WBZ NewsRadio that this iteration of the hunt, Cozy, is their 12th hunt since they began creating the fun three years ago.

“We’ve been doing quarterly hunts,” he said. “Each one, we keep growing in numbers little bit bigger each time.”

Their last game was in November and was their most popular, but they are expecting this one to surpass that.

Cozy began at 9 a.m. Saturday with the first clue emailed to the players to figure out where the treasure is ‘buried.’ Coughlin said they’ve already released a 50 mile radius map of the general location, but “as the teams solve the puzzles, that radius is [going to] narrow in, and you’re going to narrow down how to find the treasure.”

There was a $25 registration fee to participate, but Coughlin said they put most of those fees back into the cash prize.

November hunt’s prize was a little over $500, and the faster the team solves the puzzle, the closer they are to the win the money.

Coughlin said the goal is to wrap up the game by the end of the weekend. With the previous hunt lasting a full week, they've catered Cozy's clues to the progress of the game.

“If they’re all stuck on the same puzzle, we’ll [kind of] be able to tailor the next clue that’s coming out to be able to get them through that hurdle and get them closer to the end game,” he said. “It’s very precise is all I can say.”
