Freddie Records has officially unveiled the full song list and presave link for 3225, the highly anticipated new album from “The Godfather of Tejano,” David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. Set to drop on all digital platforms on Friday, December 19, the release marks a major milestone for the legendary “Poteet Posse” and signals an exciting new chapter in a career that has helped define Tejano music for more than four decades.
David Lee Garza and Los Musicales lead singer Cezar Martinez shared the news in a recent social media video, reminding fans that 3225 is the group’s first album with Freddie Records and arrives just in time for the holidays. The album features 13 brand-new tracks, including the chart-topping hit “Atormentado” and the newly released collaboration with Pete Astudillo, “Haces Falta Tú.” The official music video for “Haces Falta Tú” is already available on YouTube via Freddie Records.
“We just want to remind everybody—Los Musicales’ new album, 3225, the first one with Freddie Records, is dropping Friday, December the 19th,” Martinez shared. “Thirteen tracks on this album, including ‘Atormentado’ and our newest collaboration with Pete Astudillo, ‘Haces Falta Tú.’ Pre-save, pre-add, pre-order—whatever the case may be—on all digital platforms.”
3225 stands as the group’s debut release under Freddie Records, following their signing with the iconic label earlier this year—an achievement long envisioned by Garza himself. The partnership brings together two pillars of Tejano music, blending Los Musicales’ unmistakable sound with Freddie Records’ storied legacy.
David Lee Garza y Los Musicales boast a remarkable résumé spanning over 40 years and 31 albums, highlighted by one Grammy Award, two Latin Grammy Awards, and countless unforgettable performances. Known for Garza’s signature accordion style and enduring influence, the band’s journey traces back to humble beginnings in Poteet, Texas.
“We started playing weddings and parties in and around Poteet back in the late ’60s as David Lee Garza y Su Conjunto,” Garza reflected. “By 1978, we added a saxophone and electric guitar and recorded our first album under the name David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. I’ve been leading this band now for 45 years, and we’re still going strong.”
For Garza, joining Freddie Records represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream.
“For years I would see all these great artists recording for Freddie, and I said, ‘One day, we will be part of the Freddie Records family,’” he said. “That day is finally here.”
As anticipation builds for 3225, Garza says the mission remains unchanged.
“We want to keep making people dance,” he added. “This new production with Freddie Records feels special, and I believe fans old and new are going to hear that.”
With its deep roots, renewed energy, and a partnership decades in the making, 3225 is shaping up to be one of the most significant Tejano releases of the year—and a must-listen as the genre’s godfather continues to move the culture forward.
