BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — China's international tea chain, Molly Tea, has opened shop in Boston.
A few dozen people stood outside in the cold waiting in anticipation to pick up their tea orders on Friday.
"I got the jasmine coconut with pistachio foam on top," one customer proclaimed
"I ordered the jasmine premium milk tea, it was really good," another customer said.
"I really like the refreshing taste of the jasmine, that's what they're known for," a third customer added.

Founded in Shenzhen, China, Molly Tea markets itself as brand that explores locally-sourced floral and fruity tea aromas from around the world, with a focus on floral-scented Chinese teas.
"It's just really fragrant and the balance is really good. Like the flavor is just really nice," one resident said.
The company opened their first store in February 2021. By August of the same year, they sold over 500,000 cups of their premium Jasmine Milk Tea. This year, the brand expanded to more than 1,400 stores nationwide, with sales surpassing 300 million cups. While some love the fragrant beverage, others thought it tasted like perfume. Athena from New York thinks that it's an acquired taste.
"Try it. You might think it's kind of strange at first, but it's really delicious. And like you don't really know like what's so appealing about it until you actually taste it," she said.
