BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An annual exhibit returned to the station at the Museum of Science ahead of the holidays this year.
“All Aboard! Trains at Science Park” parked at science park for it’s eighth year. There are three intricate model train landscapes on display, all developed in collaboration with the National Model Railroad Association.
Carol Fabricant, project manager with the museum, told WBZ NewsRadio that this year’s exhibit is bigger than ever before.
“Last year, we were able to move into this gallery which is 6,500 square-feet, and it’s really one of the biggest iterations of this exhibit we’ve ever done,” she said.
The space is filled with various interactive activities for visitors of all ages to enjoy the beauty of scaled-down locomotives and learn about the stories behind each one of them.
Fabricant said the display really brings out the winter wonderland magic, as trains and miniature buildings are covered in Christmas decorations and snow.
“Trains just spark a lot of imagination in people, a lot of wonder, a lot of ideas about travel and going places and really going to that imaginary world of creativity,” she continued.
A showing of the film “Train Time” is also taking place at the Mugar Omni Theater.
The exhibit runs through mid-January.
