BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has announced its January service change schedule on the Orange, Red, and Blue lines.

Starting next month, the MBTA said parts of the Orange and Blue lines will shut down to allow crews to conduct tunnel inspections, saying these inspections are critical and necessary to keep trains running efficiently.

Orange Line

Train service between Wellington and Back Bay will be suspended Jan. 10 -11. Shuttle buses making stops between Wellington and North Station will replace train services.

Express shuttle buses going directly between Wellington and North Station will also be available.

Riders are encouraged to transfer to the Green Line, which will increase service between North Station and Back Bay.

Blue Line

From Jan. 24 -25, service between Bowdoin and Airport will be suspended.

Shuttle buses will stop at Airport, Maverick and Haymarket.

The East Boston Ferry will also be free to accommodate this service change.

Red Line

The MBTA will continue making signal upgrades on the Red Line in January.

Service between Broadway and Ashmont on the Ashmont Branch and Broadway and North Quincy on the Braintree Branch will be suspended Jan. 31 – Feb. 1.

Shuttle buses will replace train service, making stops at all impacted stations.
