METHUAN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Methuen gas station sold a $50,000 Powerball ticket, but this isn’t the first time this spot has sold winning numbers.
Ted’s Stateline Mobil has a reputation for selling winning lottery tickets. In 2022, they sold three million dollar winning tickets within the span of a month.
This lucky streak led to the shop going all in on the gambling side of gas station marts. Around the time the shop was selling numerous jackpots, they got rid of their donut shop to make room for scratcher tables and lotto machines.
With the Powerball jackpot reaching $1.8 billion, folks were lining up out the door Christmas Eve, hoping the store’s luck would rub off of them.

One staff member said that Powerball combined with typical Christmas rush has kept business busy.
“It’s like double,” she said. “You got Christmas, lots of scratches, and then you have Powerball on top of that.”
One lucky person has scored a $50,000 lottery win, but the store hasn’t found the person just yet.
As for the Powerball jackpot, one lucky person in Arkansas won the full jackpot after the most recent drawing.
