Santa makes a stop at 7th Mile Farm in Bulloch County

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - The Christian Motorcycle Association was rolling out the spirit of giving and delivering gifts to Fostering Bulloch’s 7th Mile Farm Saturday morning.

"It kicks off my Christmas season every year,” said Curtis Gay, the president of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

It's their 22nd annual toy run benefiting kids that could use a holiday boost.

"That's what Christmas is all about - looking out for someone that's in need,” said Gay. “It's a great thing."

Organizers tell me the event grows every year. This year over 100 bikers came out and raised around $5000 - in addition to the toys under the tree.

"The bikers are the most giving people of anybody in the community,” said Gay. “I mean any time there's an event like this for toys or somebody's sick or anything - they turn out."

"We want to see smiles on kids' faces,” said Hugh Yaughn, one of the leaders at 7th Mile Farm.

7th Mile hosts youth camps and other events throughout the year for foster children, in the hope of giving them the childhood memories they might otherwise miss out on.

"We want them to be successful in life,” said Yaughn. “We hope with what we do with our camp and things like this… with the foster kids, they'll see the light and say, ‘Okay, I can do this. I can do good. I can be good. I can do this stuff.’"

Kids got to sit on Santa’s lap for a photo, ride in the sleigh and take home a gift for themselves.
