HINESVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) — JJ’s Bar and Grill closed its doors to its regular customers and served first responders a free Thanksgiving meal on Monday.
JJ’s Bar and Grill Owner Jose Espada said that this meal has been a tradition for the past five years to honor those who put their lives on the line for their community.
"It's a way to say thank you, thank you for serving the community," Espada said.
JJ's had turkey, ham, green beans, apple pies and all the fixings for the first responders.
"We just appreciate them taking the time and recognizing law enforcement and all the first responders," Matthew McKnight from the Liberty County Sheriff's Office said. "What they do doesn't go unnoticed. We like to come and serve the community, and we appreciate them taking the time to do the same for us."
JJ's Bar and Grill said that they partnered with the Days Inn by Windham to provide the hot Thanksgiving meals to their local first responders.
