SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - The Beach Institute is inviting the public to their free family-friendly Kwanzaa celebration honoring Ujima—collective work and responsibility.
Speakers will include King Tisdell College Foundation Board Members Master Storyteller Lillian Grant Baptiste and Michael Porter, who will explore the significance of Ujima in today’s world.
Local artists, including Kwanzaa 365 Connection and Temakha Maakheru, will bring Ujima to life through music, dance and spoken word.
Hundreds show up to Kingdom Life Fellowship’s Blessings on the Southside
Guests are asked to bring a dish to share and enjoy a meal while gathering to connect, share stories, and strengthen bonds. For dinner there will be dishes prepared by Gullah Geechee Chef, What's Gina Cooking. Light refreshments will also be served.
The celebration will be on Dec. 28 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Beach Institute located at 502 E. Harris St.
