STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) - On Saturday, the Statesboro Police Department (SPD) said armed robbery suspect, 41-year-old Frank Mitchell, is now in custody.
According to SPD, on December 11 just after 9 p.m., officers responded to the Quality Inn at 230 South Main Street where a clerk reported a male entered the office and robbed him of cash. A vehicle believed to be associated with Mitchell was towed and searched by detectives, which they say yielded clues to the suspect’s identity.
Video surveillance from the Quality Inn further aided in the investigation and a warrant was issued for Mitchell for one count of Armed Robbery, according to authorities.

The department says SPD Patrol officers observed Mitchell on Fair Rd. and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Bulloch County Jail where he remains pending further judicial action.
