Hug Wins The Men's Wheelchair Division In 129th Boston Marathon

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —The first official winners of the 129th Boston Marathon wheelchair divisions have crossed the finish line.

Swiss star Marcel Hug won the men's wheelchair division race in 1:21:34 beating the field by more than four minutes. 

This was the eighth win at the Boston Marathon for Hug.

Meanwhile, American Susannah Scaroni won her second championship in the women's wheelchair division.

Hug was born with spina bifida and discovered his passion for wheelchair racing at a young age.

Along with his Boston Marathon wins Hug holds numerous Paralympic medals, including four gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

He also holds several wheelchair racing world records.
