WENDELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It will “take a few days” to clean up a derailed train in Wendell, Mass.
According to the Orange Fire Department, a freight train derailed 14 train cars on Tuesday afternoon in the western Mass. town. Authorities said that there were no injuries and the Berkshire & Eastern Railroad train was carrying “dry goods.”
“The train company has assets [en] route to start the clean-up process. This will take a few days. Farley Road will be closed to through traffic until the clean-up is complete. Please seek alternate routes,” said the Leverett Police Department in an update on Facebook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pictures of the derailed train show the difficult clean-up process ahead, as the road remains closed. There is no word as of Wednesday morning when Farley Road will reopen as the investigation continues.
