BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Banners Kitchen & Tap, in collaboration with Professional Bull Riders (PBR), hosted a New Year’s Buckin’ A Brunch in anticipation of the PBR Unleash the Beast event this weekend at TD Garden.
This pregame kicked off at noon on Thursday, with food, drink, and even a meet and greet with the bull riders competing in the weekend’s competition.
One of these riders was Kade Madsen, a 20-year-old professional bull rider from Honeyville, Ohio. He laid out how the PBR Unleash the Beast event is going to go down.
“It’s strictly all bull riding, so it’ll be 40 or 45 of the best guys in the world going against the best bulls,” Madsen said. “Super action packed and then the best guy comes out on top at the end.”

He also explained that his goal is to stay on the bull for at least eight seconds, as that’s the time needed for a qualifying score. Madsen said he’s learned how to concentrate during a seemingly stressful sport.
“Typically, my mind stays pretty clear, just focus on the task at hand, which is staying on the bull eight seconds, keeping it simple,” he said.
The afternoon was not without its own bull riding of sorts, as a competition with a mechanical bull was held between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., in which the winner walked away with the title of Top Bull Rider and a pair of tickets to the PBR weekend event.
Beyond the bull riding-focused events, there was also a live country band and line dancing lessons offered by Jason Peterson Line-Dance.
