BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — What’s on your family’s Thanksgiving dinner table?
WBZ NewsRadio’s James Rojas sought out some of Bostonians’ favorite, also some not so favorite, Thanksgiving dishes.
One local resident said rolls are her favorite part of the meal. “Give me all the gluten,” she said and added that turkey is not the center piece for her.
Boston University student Roshan shares this sentiment. “We just stopped making it entirely,” she said. “We do like an Indian Thanksgiving, so I make like a tamarind pie which is really good. It’s like a key lime pie.”
Meanwhile, Tim of Norwood disagrees and is a big fan of the traditional roast. “It’s the one day a year [for] that nice big turkey leg,” he said. “You [have to] beat everyone to that though [because] there’s only two.”
Green bean casseroles got some hate. Three residents told WBZ NewsRadio that the dish not only looks weird but vegetables should not be welcomed at dinner at all.
Notable mentions go to grandma’s mac and cheese, or grandma’s anything because nothing seems to beat the taste of grandma’s cooking.
No matter which dish makes it to your family’s dinner menu, “it’s not a day to look at your waistband,” one local resident said. “It’s to eat the best food ever.”
