The man who was pulled from a riptide at the Long Point Wildlife Refuge on Martha's Vineyard has died.
Fifty-five-year-old Kevin Foster of Cambridge was one of five people who became caught in the riptide and he was unconscious when brought to land and taken to the hospital.
The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office confirmed Monday that Foster did not survive.
The south-facing beach was closed for the weekend and was going to open Monday, but rough surf conditions prevented that.
