The Tampa Bay Rays (58-42) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (46-55) 12-2 on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre in Toronto. With the win, the Rays have now won two in a row, both blowout wins over the Blue Jays.
Drew Rasmussen (8-5, 3.28) allowed two earned runs on seven hits in his five innings of work in which he struck out five and walked one. Chandler Simpson and Ben Williamson each had four hits, while Nick Fortes added three hits and the Rays out-hit the Blue Jays 21-7. Fortes had four RBIs on the game, while Yandy Diaz and Jonny DeLuca both drove in three.
The Rays will now try to win the four-game series when they meet the Blue Jays in the third game coming up on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 7:07 PM - pregame coverage begins with Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620 your Home of of Rays Baseball.
