Tropical Storm Watch Issued For Panhandle
(Tallahassee, FL) --The impact of Tropical Storm Bertha could be felt in parts of North Florida. The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch and a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Panhandle. Winds could reach 30 miles an hour with gusts up to 35 miles an hour.The NWS says, though, there is the potential for winds to reach close to 60 miles an hour. This could cause trees to snap and power lines to come down.There's also the potential for up to two feet of storm surge and minor coastal flooding, and tornadoes are possible.
Edgewater Mayor Defends Hiring Same Lawyer As The One The City Uses
(Edgewater, FL) --There's a debate in Edgewater over the mayor's lawyer. Mayor Diezel [[DEE-zil]] Depew [[duh-PEW]] has hired the Sabatini Law Firm to represent him, but some have a problem with that because the firm also represents the city.At yesterday's city council meeting, Councilwoman Debbie Dolbow [[DOLL-bo]] questioned if that could create a perception of bias. Depew, though, says this is just political optics, and there's nothing wrong with the firm representing him on personal issues that have nothing to do with the city.According to News 6, he also said he has no plans to hire another firm to represent him.
Police Video Shows Clash Between UCF Trans Student/Police
(Orlando, FL) --Newly released body-cam' footage shows a February 2025 confrontation between a transgender University of Central Florida student and campus police. It shows Jarrett Vick's violent reaction to being misgendered. Police ultimately used pepper spray and arrested the student, who identifies as a woman but is listed as a man on court documents. Vick pleaded not guilty to charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.The case has since been closed.The footage was released by Inside The Blue TV.

Cedar Point Guests Charged After Refusing To Exit Sky Ride
(Sandusky, OH) -- Charges are being filed against two guests at the Cedar Point amusement part in Ohio who police say refused to exit a ride last week. According to the report, two people from Philadelphia were on the Sky Ride Wednesday evening and would not get off when the ride came to an end. The incident brought the ride to a stop stranding other guests above the midway. Charges against the riders -- age 66 and 72 -- include disorderly conduct.
