Adult depression trends in Louisiana are improving faster than the national average.
The new "State of the States" report shows that while adult depression is rising across the country, Louisiana is holding up significantly better than the rest of the nation.
The data ranks Louisiana eleventh in the U.S. for managing the disorder, putting the state ahead of most of its Southern neighbors.
The report notes the state's broader mental health picture remains mixed, however, with fatal overdoses and suicides still worsening.
