Saturday- Bahrain's Foreign Minister says a number Iranian drones targeted the country. The island is home to the U.S. Navy's 5th fleet; there is no word if the U.S. assets were the intended target.
The United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Ministry said the country “has condemned in the strongest terms the hostile drone attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain.” The ministry said, “these hostile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and a threat to its security and stability.” “The Ministry expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability,” it added.
There has been no immediate reports of the damage in Bahrain.
In a post on X, Vance warned Iran on Friday, that further attacks would be met with force following U.S. strikes on Iranian targets along the Strait of Hormuz. "Iran signed a ceasefire agreement. We have honored it. If they have disagreements about how the MOU is being applied, they can pick up the phone. But violence will be met with violence."
The comments came after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites as well as coastal radar installations in response to Tehran’s attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The International Maritime Organization said it is temporarily pausing its vessel evacuation operation in the region following the attack.
