A performance by Trick Daddy was cut short during a recent Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. regional conference after organizers said the set did not align with agreed-upon guidelines.

The Miami rapper performed during an evening event tied to the sorority’s South Atlantic Regional Conference, which brought members together for several days of programming focused on leadership, networking, and community engagement.

But the performance quickly drew a reaction from attendees.

Videos circulating on social media show some audience members leaving the room as Trick Daddy performed songs that included explicit lyrics. The set was ultimately stopped before it concluded.

In a statement shared by regional leadership, South Atlantic Regional Director Tiffany Moore Russell said the organization had communicated expectations in advance. "We met several times with him and his team to detail our requirements, including attire, language and specific songs,” she said. “Unfortunately, our requirements were ignored."

Russell added that the performance was ended due to what she described as "disrespect for our organization and for our brand."

Trick Daddy later responded in a video posted to social media, disputing that characterization and pushing back on the idea that his performance should have been altered. “You can’t give me no playlist… this ain’t your wedding,” he said, adding that his performance reflected the music he is known for.

He also addressed the criticism more directly, saying, "Do not use me to save face. I ain’t the one."

The moment has sparked conversation online about expectations, audience alignment, and how artists are booked for events with specific branding and tone.
