Judge Alfred Bennett, an Obama-appointed judge, has ordered the State of Texas and acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock to extend the school voucher application window.

This comes as a number of Muslim schools and parents are suing Hancock over the exclusion of Muslim schools from the voucher program.

So far, they’ve been excluded primarily on the basis of their connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which are both designated foreign terrorist organizations.

Judge Bennett has called the fact that no Islamic schools have been accepted into the voucher program “troubling” and ordered that Hancock send applications to take part in the program to schools that haven’t received them yet.
