Here's what's trending for January 22.

It's seems more and more likely that a heavy snowstorm is coming our way. "Right now, the official Accu-Weather forecast is calling for six-to-twn inches of snow from this winter storm. I think there's the potential for more than that, but that depends on the exact track of the storm. But, there are certainly some higher end totals that are well within reach," says Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg. He says the snow will probably begin very late Saturday night, with the heaviest snow likely throughout the day Sunday, before the storm wraps up Monday morning. Whatever snow falls this weekend will probably stick around quite a while. Today is the last day with a forecasted high temperature above freezing through the first week of February.

Local power companies are reminding customers to be prepared for possible outages during the upcoming winter storm. Utilities say you should have an emergency kit ready with flashlights, water, and other supplies in case the power goes out during the severe weather. Officials say residents need to pay close attention to the news this weekend to stay up to date on the storm.

AAA East Central says the average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania as of Tuesday was $3.03, up two cents from one week earlier, but 32 cents below the 2025 price. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price stands at $2.99, up three cents from the previous week, but 26 cents less than the price one year earlier.

2025 was a record setter for Pennsylvania's casinos. On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released its full-year revenue figures for 2025 and they show a record high $6.8 billion, a combination of all the forms of gambling regulated by the state: slot machines, table games, sports wagering, iGaming, video gaming terminals and fantasy contests. The figure is more than 10% above the 2024 combined revenue amount of $6.1 billion. The increase was primarily fueled by a jump of more than 27% in iGaming revenue. The resulting tax revenue was $2.98 billion in 2025, the highest amount ever returned to the state in a calendar year. Of Pennsylvania's 17 physical casinos, Wind Creek in Bethlehem raked in the most table games revenue in 2025, at $251.5 million. Wind Creek was second on the list of gross revenue from slot machines, behind Parx Casino.

Nearly three months after an incident at St. Luke's Monroe Hospital, a 55-year-old man now faces charges. William Marventano Jr. was arrested Wednesday night and charged with assaulting hospital staff and threatening to "kill them all" back on October 30. Marventano was at the hospital to be treated for an arm injury and became angry over having to wait. At that point, police say Marventano starting swinging his arms, hitting one hospital staffer in the face, assaulting a security guard and pointing at staff members and threatening to kill all of them.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior made an appearance at the Pennsylvania State Capitol on Wednesday. Kennedy spoke in the capitol rotunda to kick off his "Eat Real Food" tour promoting the federal government's changes to diet and nutrition guidelines. RFK Junior's visit was met with protests outside the capitol and was also opposed by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Shapiro said Kennedy has made the country "less healthy and less informed," and has spend his time as Secretary "causing chaos and spreading disinformation."
