The Portland Trail Blazers faced their first game of the season without Deni Avdija on Tuesday night and the Golden State Warriors took advantage of the opportunity.
De'Anthony Melton scored a team-high 23 points and Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody combined for 30 points as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 119-97 Tuesday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Shaedon Sharpe led Portland (19-22) with 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting and Caleb Love added 17 points and seven assists.
The Warriors took control of the game with a 21-4 first quarter run and led by double-digit points the rest of the way.
Golden State led by 26 at halftime but Portland used a 19-5 third quarter run to cut the deficit to 12. The Warriors responded with seven-straight points to push their lead back to 19. Golden State would close the quarter on a 23-11 run and led by 24 heading into the fourth. The Blazers never threatened the rest of the way.
Golden State finished the game +27 from three-point range and +8 in points off turnovers.
Jrue Holiday continued to ramp up his return to action. He played 11 of his 20 minutes in the third quarter. He
