Do Your Dogs Listen To Your Conversations?

Ever wonder if your pets can actually understand you? Maybe you shouldn't fight with your kids/spouse in front of them because they may be listening to every word you say. Even if your wife tells you "why do you talk to them like that? They don't understand english."

A new study reveals certain dogs can learn words by listening to their owners’ conversations. Not scary at all right? It's kind of similar to 18 month old children. When they did the study, owners introduced new toys and labeled them during direct interaction, then discussed the toys with another person while dogs listened passively.

Seven out of 10 dogs learned the new labels after hearing each toy’s name for just eight minutes total. That's a good boy!!!

The person who did the study said  “Under the right conditions, some dogs present behaviors strikingly similar to those of young children.” Who we all know hang on every one of their parents words and want to be them.

So if your dog acts like he/she/they don't know what you're saying. They might be playing you.
