------ The Trail Blazers improved to 6-1 in their last seven games with a 103-102 victory over the Houston Rockets Wednesday night at Moda Center.
Deni Avdija continued his bid for the 2026 NBA All-Star game Wednesday night at Moda Center against the Houston Rockets.
Avdija scored a game-high 41-points and added six rebounds and two assists as the Trail Blazers defeated the Houston Rockets 103-102 Wednesday night at Moda Center.
Tari Eason tipped-in a Kevin Durant missed jumper at the buzzer to put the Rockets on top, but following a review the basket was ruled no good because Eason's hand was still on the ball as the buzzer sounded.
With the win, Portland improved to 6-1 in their last seven games and 18-20 on the season.
Portland led 103-102 with 5.3 seconds remaining but the Rockets forced a turnover and called timeout to setup for the final shot.
Portland used a 17-7 run to take a 10-point halftime lead. Avdija connected on a baseline jumper to end the third which put the Blazers up six heading into the final quarter.
Portland held Houston to 38% shooting including just 8-of-36 from beyond-the-arc.
Durant led Houston (22-12) with 37 points and Amen Thompson added 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Shaedon Sharpe finished with 20 points, Donovan Clingan added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Toumani Camara recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists. He lost a tooth in the second half after a collision with Dorian Finney-Smith.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will host the Rockets again on Friday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.
