Two people were killed and six others injured in a shooting at a church parking lot in Salt Lake City on Wednesday (January 6). The incident occurred outside a meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during a funeral service. According to Salt Lake police spokesman Glen Mills, the shooting followed an argument in the parking lot, and the suspect or suspects remain at large.
Authorities confirmed that two of the victims have died, three are in critical condition, and the conditions of the other three are unknown. The situation remains fluid as police continue their investigation.
Local media reported a significant presence of emergency response vehicles at the scene. The police are actively searching for the shooter, whose identity is currently unknown.
