A Fan Pays His Tribute To Mtv

We all know Mtv went away after the New Year, but when was the last time they played music videos? It's been a while, so why call it Music Television then?

Well fans of the network are still sad because it's now gone for good. So what does this mean for the VMA's? The Music Awards? All the stuff we loved on top of the music that changed a lot of us.

A fan-created website called MTV Rewind has launched, featuring 27,293 classic music videos and vintage commercials following MTV’s shutdown of its music channels. Best part. It's a free archive using YouTube content, organizing videos chronologically from MTV’s 1981 debut through the 2020s. (most of the stuff you could find on your own, but when someone already put it together lets celebrate them for sure.)

To answer your question "But Jrod, what about Headbangers Ball and Yo! Mtv Raps? They get their spot here as well.

MTV’s main channel, yes the one you still see advertising their reality programming will continue. So if you love "The Challenge" series or whatever it's still there. Just no more music. While the creator promises MTV Rewind will stay “free forever” without advertisements, though accepts donations for site support.

Best believe I'll be checking this one out.
