McDonald’s might be hit with a class action lawsuit claiming the beloved McRib has been misleading customers for years about what kind of meat it actually contains. A small group of consumers are saying that the sandwich’s name and rib-like shape suggest premium pork rib meat, even though it’s supposedly made from restructured pork using other cuts like shoulder, heart, stomach, and tripe. The plaintiffs say they paid inflated prices based on that impression and would not have bought it otherwise, while McDonald’s strongly denies any wrongdoing and says the sandwich is made with 100% real pork. The lawsuit is seeking damages, restitution, and changes to how the McRib is marketed going forward.
