DW: I have been battling them with brown torpedo's.
Health officials in Washington state are warning residents about an unsettling possibility…rats could show up in their toilets. The Seattle and King County public health department posted the warning on Facebook on Friday, explaining that heavy rain and floodwaters can sweep rodents into sewer systems, where they might find their way up through pipes.
They did at least offer some advice on what to do if it happens to someone: if a rat appears in your toilet, officials say to stay calm, close the lid, and flush. If that doesn't work, pour dish soap into the bowl and flush again until the rat is gone. The advisory comes after Washington was hit with major flooding this month that caused widespread damage to roads and other infrastructure across the state.
