Three individuals have been charged with theft after allegedly stealing over $1,000 worth of items from a Walmart in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The suspects, identified as Derek Markel, Thomas Markel, and Nichole Howard, were taken into custody on December 24.

According to the Lower Allen Township Police Department, the first incident occurred on December 23 when loss prevention staff reported that several people filled a shopping cart with toys and left without paying. The theft was valued at nearly $380. The suspects returned the following day and stole additional items, bringing the total value of stolen goods to more than $1,377.

The police were alerted by Walmart's loss prevention staff and reviewed video footage to identify the suspects. The trio was subsequently arrested on Christmas Eve.

The case highlights the importance of vigilance and the role of loss prevention teams in retail settings. The suspects now face charges related to the thefts.
