A very “meh” year … A new survey found that most people really want to leave 2025 in the rear view and are looking for change ahead. Just 10% called 2025 a “great” year, with most describing it as “just okay.” 20% said 2025 was bad and 10% went further, calling the year “awful.” Despite that, nearly half of those surveyed believe 2026 will be “their” year.

That’s probably why 38% want to shake things up by committing to new goals in the new year. Millennials were the most likely to make resolutions (57%), while Boomers were the least likely at 23%. Men were more likely than women to set goals and feel motivated to hit them. On average, people expect to make six resolutions, with saving money and exercising tied for first (45% each). Other top picks? Improving physical health (41%), eating better (40%), boosting financial wellness (34%), and spending more time outdoors or focusing on mental health (29%).

Vision vs. video resolution … It turns out your eyes aren’t impressed by ultra-ultra-HDTVs. A new study found that human vision maxes out at around 94 pixels per degree for grayscale images – and even less for color. This means that many high-resolution screens are overkill. The technology might be better. The picture might be sharper. But your eyes and brain can't pick up on the difference. The bottom line is 4K or 8K screens offer no real benefit over similarly sized 2K screens in average living room.
