GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The first baby of the new year at Corewell Health's Butterworth Hospital was born to Emily Strang and Christian Adsit at 1:35 a.m. on January 1.
The hospital says Bentley weighed in at 10 pounds, 8 ounces, and is 23 inches long. It is the couple's second baby. He arrived early ... his due date was January 7th.

Bentley was on a mission to become the first baby of 2026 at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, coming into the world much sooner than originally expected as his due date was January 7th.
Bentley's full name is Bentley Winston Adsit. His middle name is after his maternal grandfather.
The hospital said that Bentley and Mom are doing well.

U-M Health-West's first baby of the new year was Shepherd Isaac Anderson. He was born at 6 a.m. on January 1st. He was weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. The parents are Jenn and Mike Anderson.
