Work on the Quaker Meeting House Road overpass at Route 6 has wrapped up for the winter.
State Representative Steve Xiarhos visited the site in Sandwich and took photos on Tuesday, saying the bridge walls on both sides have been replaced, a new sidewalk is in place, and important structural improvements have been completed.
In the spring, the contractor will return to complete the remaining weather-sensitive work, including milling and paving the roadway, applying new pavement markings, and adding an epoxy protective coating to the exposed concrete sidewalk.
Xiarhos says once the project is completed it will look similar to the First Responders Appreciation Overpass that was recently completed in West Barnstable at Route 149.
