Palmetto Bay, FL - A high speed crash involving a Chevrolet Corvette disrupted a Palmetto Bay neighborhood on Christmas Eve, leaving a home and property damaged but no one injured.

According to Palmetto Bay police, the incident occurred Tuesday evening in the area of Southwest 174th Street.

Investigators say the Corvette was traveling eastbound when it allegedly lost control, jumped a curb, and entered a residential front yard.

Surveillance video from the home shows the vehicle crossing the lawn at a rapid pace before striking a wooden fence, a parked boat and trailer, and the exterior wall of the house.

The homeowner told authorities that children had been outside playing in the yard earlier in the evening but were inside the home at the time of the crash.

No residents or bystanders were injured.

The impact caused visible structural damage to the home, along with significant damage to the boat, trailer, and landscaping.

Police officers arrived shortly after the crash and conducted an on scene investigation.

According to the arrest and incident report, the driver remained at the location and was cooperative with responding officers.

The driver was cited for traffic related violations.

There were no reports of impairment, and no felony charges were listed in the initial report.

Investigators reviewed video footage, vehicle damage, and witness statements to determine the sequence of events.

Police said speed appears to have been a contributing factor, though the investigation remains ongoing.

The damaged Corvette was removed from the property later that evening.

Repairs to the home and surrounding property are expected to take weeks.

Authorities are reminding drivers to slow down in residential areas, especially during holiday evenings when families are more likely to be outdoors.
