It looks like the story of now-former professor Melissa McCoul is finally coming to an end, thanks to a Texas A&M University vice chancellor upholding her termination. She was originally fired after videos began circulating online of her pushing gender ideology in one of her class lectures.
A faculty appeals panel had recommended the school reverse her termination, but after interim president Tommy Williams deferred the decision, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs James Hallmark announced that McCoul’s termination was with “good cause.”
State Representative and former Aggie Brian Harrison—who played a major role in calling out A&M for allowing McCoul’s “woke” indoctrination—reacted to the news by saying: “They’ve touched the proverbial stove, and they still remember it is hot. They don’t wanna touch it again by rehiring this woke leftist progressive.”
Harrison went on to say that while this is a good move by A&M, there’s still a lot of work to do in Texas colleges. “The fact that we have these ‘faculty advisory councils’ shows you how deep the rot is,” he said. “And frankly, that faculty group should be disbanded immediately.”
He went on to say that Texans are going to continue to expect this type of bold conservative leadership from both their government officials and those in leadership at publicly funded state colleges moving forward.
