Parkland, FL - A Parkland eighth grader is using technology to promote compassion after launching an interactive website focused on teaching kids the value of kindness.
13-year-old Abhay Agarwal developed the platform, called Kind Kingdom, with the goal of helping younger children learn respectful behavior, empathy and healthy habits through games and interactive activities.
Agarwal said the idea came from noticing what he believes is a decline in everyday kindness among kids his age and younger.
He wanted to build something that felt engaging rather than instructional, allowing children to learn positive values while having fun.
The site features colorful characters, interactive challenges and simple lessons designed to reinforce respectful behavior and thoughtful decision making.
The student began working on the website about 6 months ago and taught himself how to code in order to bring the project to life.
Agarwal said the process was challenging and required a lot of problem solving, but he stayed motivated by the purpose behind the project.
Kind Kingdom has already been tested by students in first through fifth grade at North Broward Preparatory School.
Feedback from those early users is being used to improve the site as Agarwal works toward expanding its reach.
His mother said she is proud of her son for turning values learned at home into a project meant to help others.
In addition to Kind Kingdom, Agarwal said he is also developing another website focused on math education.
He hopes his kindness platform can eventually reach children beyond South Florida and inspire small positive actions that add up to meaningful change.
