The Miami Dolphins (7-9) defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9) 20-17 on Sunday afternoon in Miami. The Buccaneers have now lost four in a row and have lost seven of their last eight.
Baker Mayfield went 33-of-44 with 346 yards and two touchdowns - he also threw two costly interceptions and lost a fumble. Dolphins backup quarterback Quinn Ewers went 14-for-22 with 172 yards and two touchdowns to lead Miami to the win.
After Baker Mayfield hit Chris Godwin for a 5-yard touchdown on their first offensive drive, the Dolphins took control of the game. They led the game 17-7 at halftime and built a 20-10 lead before the Buccaneers got a touchdown with 50 seconds to go from Mike Evans that made it a three-point game.
The Buccaneers wrap up the regular season against the Carolina Panthers the weekend of January 4th - winner of that game would likely be the NFC South champion and advance to the playoffs.
