Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass can’t imagine American Latino citizens would want to enforce the law at the border, as applications are up 70 percent from last year, with over half of the southern border agents of Hispanic origin.
Bass on CNN with Wolf Blitzer: "Well, in a way, I think it’s sad," Bass responded. "I think that those Border Patrol agents are going to have a difficult time when they’re out in the field and they see what actually happens in real life separate from their training. But I do understand that their primary incentive is financial. I think it just speaks to the financial situation that millions of Americans find themselves in. And I definitely am concerned about that report." She said.
On another CNN tv segment, CNN Sr. Correspondent David Culver, asking for reaction to LA Mayor, Karen Bass’ comments to Blitzer, later interviewed a new border patrol agent recruit- Juan Peralta.
David Culver, asked: “How do you answer to that, when you hear that asking about his feelings regarding arresting “your own kind?”
Peralta: “They didn’t come in the right way, so they aren’t my kind.”
