Black People Magic: DJ Moore, Chance the Rapper & St. Sabina Share Xmas Joy

Celebrating Chicagoans taking over as Santa's special helpers, spreading some Black People Magic for Christmas...

On Monday, Bears wide receiver DJ Moore treated 10 students from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago to a holiday shopping spree at JD Sports on State Street. He gave each student $250 to spend at the store, thanks to his non-profit, DJ's Moore 2 Life Foundation. He said, "It means a lot, especially a few days from Christmas, and we still get to bless people, so I'm very happy... For everybody it hasn’t always been special, so we’re here to make it special.” DJ did the giveaway right after the the Bears playoff-clinching weekend where he helped clinch the team's win over the Packers last Saturday night in overtime, catching the game-winning 46-yard touchdown from Caleb Williams. He's also a nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

And the week before Christmas, Grammy-Award-winning artist and Chicago native Chance the Rapper gave away 100 bicycles and helmets to Chicago area children during a holiday event at Raising Cane’s in Chicago Ridge. The restaurant and Chance's nonprofit organization, Social Works, also treated the kids to a free meal when they got their bikes.

And the faith community of Saint Sabina's gathered on Christmas day to cater, box up, and deliver holiday dinners, toys and gift cards to over 1500 people in shelters and veterans homes across the area. Father Pfleger said, "Nobody should feel like they're a burden or they're forgotten or isolated." Amen to that!

Happy holidays and always remember to celebrate your magic, too!
