Early Wednesday morning (December 24), a woman was involved in a car crash in Ferrysburg, Michigan, which resulted in her vehicle plunging into Smith's Bayou. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 3:27 a.m. as the woman was driving south on 168th Avenue near West Spring Lake Road. Her car collided with Ferrysburg Utilities before continuing over an embankment into the water.
The 41-year-old driver managed to swim to shore and shouted for help, prompting a response from deputies who arrived at the scene. After extensive efforts, authorities confirmed that there were no other occupants in the vehicle or additional victims in the water or on shore. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
