One Rochester police officer has been released from the hospital, while two others and a civilian remain hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital following a domestic violence incident Friday night that left three officers wounded.
Police say the incident began on Chili Avenue and escalated into a chase.
According to Chief David Smith, officers pursued 38-year-old Eric Davis from Chili Avenue to Thurston Road.
Davis was fatally shot by an officer during the confrontation.
An investigation is underway, and officials say body camera footage will be released.
Mayor Malik Evans addressed the community, urging calm and support as the investigation continues.
The civilian who tried to intervene in the situation is also hospitalized.
The domestic violence victim was not injured.
