Who Was Your Favorite Teacher? Thank A Teacher w $5,000 in Supplies Prize

In the photo here you can see me on the far right, a fellow former student named Ken Harrison at the podium, who was hosting the retirement party for my favorite teacher. Russ Jackson.

Mr. Jackson ran the radio program at Palomar College, where I got my start in the business and learned what I needed to get into the business...mostly from Russ.Russ Jackson was responsible for well over 100 of his students going on to have careers in radio...even though he told us things like "Don't do radio unless you feel like its the only thing you want to do...." I must have followed that advice because here I am...still doing radio...

Did you have a favorite teacher growing up? Maybe your kids have a teacher that they really like, and you’d like to honor in a special way. We’re helping teachers stock their classroom with supplies this Spring…by giving them $5,000 to pay for everything from storage bins to markers to posters to cleaning supplies. It’s called Thank A Teacher, and you can see all about it and nominate those who’ve made a difference at iHeartRadio.com/teachers.
