(Iowa) -- The state of Iowa will receive receive millions as part of a nearly $150,000, multi-state settlement with Mercedes Benz USA and Daimler AG.
A coalition of 50 attorneys general argued the companies unlawfully marketed, sold, and leased vehicles more than 211,000 diesel passenger vehicles equipped with illegal and undisclosed emissions defeat devices that reduce or disable a vehicle's emission control system. As part of the $149,673,750 settlement, Iowa will receive over $3,130,271 dollars to be deposited in a state fund for future consumer protection lawsuits or education.
